“A rough team that we faced is when we went against Bloomfield high,” said Nickeya Jones ’23. Bloomfield’s girls team won the Class S state championship.

“We were starting in November with a few people who had experience, but others who had never been to a track meet and never thought about doing track, and by the end of the year they were improving not only at an individual level but also to the point that we had a solid showing at the conference meet, so I’m proud of how far they have come” said Head coach Miller.

“The key for the team will be to continue to work hard and to use this year as a starting point,” said head Coach Miller

“Our team is very good at teamwork!”  said Nickeya Jones’23

At CRAL girls finished 4th and boys finished 7th out of 12 teams. This is a great improvement because they finished last, last year for conference.

“My goal is for a lot more people to make conferences and even some to make states!” said Nickeya Jones ‘23

At CRAL Chelsea Thompson ’26  got first place in the girl’s 55-meter hurdles  as well as Cassidy ward ‘23, first place in the girl’s shot put

Girls 4×200-meter relay team ( Nariyah Lindsay ‘25, Adra-nae Esson ’26, Elysa Richards ‘25, chelsea Thompson ‘26) Got third place at CRAL

“I have not reached my goal for track this year,” said Victor Wilkins ’26, who made conference in the 55-meter dash and 55-meter hurdles. “But one thing I enjoyed from indoor track was our bus rides!”

For coach Miller, this would be his last year at University High, as well as coaching indoor track. “It is always hard to leave a team that you love coaching but this year’s group makes it particularly difficult to walk away. What a great group. Whoever is working with them next year will have a lot to look forward to”, said Head Coach Miller
