The UHSSE Pride Club will once again be hosting Diversity Day this year on March 12. “Diversity Day is a series of workshops and presentations from community members and other guests,” said Pride Club advisor Joseph Tarantino. “They will come to and lead activities that promote diversity, community, identity, and other values.”
To support the pride club in this event, teachers can encourage their students to sign up for the activities that are planned, and students can come and enjoy events that might be new for them. Mr. Tarantino also shared that the school can further support the Pride Club by helping them with their core mission, which is promoting a supportive and safe school community for all students.
The main purpose of Diversity Day is to expand on the already excellent learning program at UHSSE by inviting special guests into the school to share their areas of expertise.
In conclusion, Diversity Day is an opportunity for the UHSSE community to come together and get a whole new level of knowledge from different people. By participating in the workshops and activities, students and staff can gain new perspectives, and contribute to a more inclusive and supportive school environment.
