For the past 11 years, Ms. Nicole Silenok has been working at University High School of Science and Engineering (UHSSE). As a dedicated educator, she teaches freshmen geometry, helping students develop a strong foundation in mathematics. Her journey at UHSSE began even before she became a full-time teacher. As a student teacher, making her connection to the school even more special!
Ms. Silenok’s passion for education started with her undergraduate studies in secondary mathematics at the University of Hartford. She later earned her master’s degree in educational studies from Central Connecticut State University, further solidifying her expertise in teaching. Beyond the classroom, she plays a vital role in UHSSE’s athletic programs, serving as the head coach for the boys’ varsity soccer team and the assistant coach for the softball team.
One of the things Ms. Silenok cherishes most about UHSSE is the strong, family-like bond she has built with her colleagues. The supportive and collaborative environment has made the school feel like home, allowing her to grow both as an educator and as a mentor to her students. Whether she’s teaching geometry or coaching on the field, Ms. Silenok’s dedication to her students and school community shines through in everything she does.
