Overall, the 24-25 swim season has been extraordinary compared to other years. “The years have been better as we have become a stronger team and everyone has improved so much no matter their level,” said Alexa Neil ‘ 26. This team has worked together this whole season to make sure they can achieve their goals. They have some good moments versus others. Let’s see what some of the swimmers think their best/ proudest moments, “I am proud of how even when people aren’t feeling the greatest they still put their best into every race. Yes we are swimming individually but each race matters to gaining points for our team,” said Neil.
“I am extremely proud of the outcome with our first season relay (bulkeley relay) I believe my team had fun and went out and supported one another while also competing well,” said Nayeli Figueroa ’26
As we can see, this team supports one another and makes sure everyone puts their best effort. Let’s see what this amazing team is looking forward to for the rest of their season. “I am looking forward to our last few meets. Going against East Hartford for the second time this season at East Hartford. They are one of our rivals and a competitive team for us and would love to win for a second time. Senior night is going to be a fun and sad meet. We have a total of 14 seniors, 4 being from university (Catherine, Preeti, Alex, and Isiah) and hopefully we get another win. CCC meets are always a fun meet seeing many different swimmers all competing to make states. It tends to get really long and competitive, but it’s super fun. Right after the CCC meet is the Splash Classic, which is a girls meet. “Last year I dropped a lot of time at that meet and hope to do it again this year,” said Neil.
As the team is hoping they have a good end to the season, they are also looking for many other swimmers to join, so here is why they believe you should join and they have some advice. “The biggest piece of advice is To believe in yourself and try new things. Our team includes many people at different swimming levels, but everyone has improved to be better swimmers and people. Also to remember to have fun and to give your best energy,” said Neil.
“I definitely recommend joining the swim team next year. The team is wonderful, and the things you learn and the improvements that you make are truly inspiring,” said Figueroa
An extra shout out to Alex Alamo ’25, and Catherine Hockenhull ’25 for qualifying for states 2025!
