This May marks one year since we lost our dear friend and classmate, Aydin Davis. It’s hard to believe that so much time has passed, yet the memories of Aydin are still as clear as ever. Aydin was much more than just a student at our school; he was a source of motivation, a friend to everyone, and a bright spot in our lives.
Aydin had a way of making everybody feel seen and appreciated. He left an indelible mark on everyone he came into contact with, whether it was through his highly contagious smile, his kind words, or his outgoing personality.
Seeing Aydin as a senior, standing with his friends, ready to start the next chapter of his life, would have been an unforgettable experience. We can only think about the enormous influence he would have had if he had continued to inspire others with his positive outlook, perseverance, and energy while setting an example for his friends and peers. Aydin’s absence during his senior year is a painful reminder of the person we have lost and how much we wish that he was still a part of our lives.
As we think about the past year, we remember that it is important to cherish the moments we have with the people around us. While Aydin is no longer with us, his legacy lives in the memories we cherish and the devotion we show to one another. In memory of Aydin, let us carry on the values that he stood for: kindness, resilience, and a love of life. As Aydin would have done, let us support one another and strive to his values.
Aydin, you are deeply missed, but you will never be forgotten. Thank you for the joy and compassion that you brought into our lives. Rest in peace, dear friend.
