This month, we’re excited to give the Staff Spotlight to Mr. Aaron Brown, our physics and architecture teacher! Mr. Brown has been part of UHSSE since the very beginning in 2004 and is now in his 21st year at UHSSE. He is the last original staff member still at the school.
Before becoming a teacher, Mr. Brown worked as an architect for eight years and still does a little architecture work on the side. He got his college degree in architecture from Roger Williams University and later earned two master’s degrees in education, one from Saint Joseph College in West Hartford and one from Graceland University in Iowa.
Mr. Brown also spent many years coaching sports at UHSSE. He coached cross country for 18 years and outdoor track for 17 years. Unfortunately, he has ended his coaching at UHSSE to spend more time with his kids and their sports. Now, he helps coach his kids’ middle school track team in his town.
This year, Mr. Brown says he’s glad things are back to normal after the COVID years and is enjoying teaching again.
He says that his favorite part of UHSSE is “the people.” He loves working with the teachers and students.
He hopes to stay at UHSSE for his whole career!
